A shorebird from Siberian Asia spotted in Key West

A Swedish biologist Viktor Nilsson-Ortman was out looking for nighthawks and mangrove cuckoos when he spotted the red-necked stint. Described as a mega rare bird, attracting birders from near and far. The find was made last week near the Naval Air Station in Key West. Read More



"Papa" Hemingway Look-Alike Fish-Off

On Friday the, Conch Republic Seafood Co. docks hosted the "Papa Hemingway Look-Alike Fish Off. This event was a jump-starter to the weekend's celebration that commended Ernest Hemingway and his stay in Key West. The fish off consisted of over fifteen Papa Hemingway look alikes fishing off the dock with traditional "Cuban yo-yos." Crowds gathered around the dock to watch the snowy haired gentlemen fish with nothing other than a mere piece of fine string and a piece of bait attached to it. Read More
